Hope everyone is excited for the South Dade Health Fair this Saturday! Here’s a little information about the incredible community you’ll be serving.
South Dade, including Homestead, Florida City, and surrounding agricultural areas, is home to a largely Hispanic and migrant farmworker population. Many residents face significant barriers to healthcare access, including transportation limitations, financial constraints, language barriers, and limited availability of nearby medical services. With 18.4% of residents lacking health coverage and a poverty rate of 19.6%, preventive care is often out of reach.
This year’s fair will bring free screenings, health education, and essential resources directly to the people who need them most.
