IYKYK...

Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) is the most common cause of female infertility, affecting 1 in 10 women of reproductive age. But those who suffer from PCOS know there’s more to this condition than just sporadic or non-existent ovulation, which makes achieving pregnancy so difficult. Symptoms can include irregular periods, unwanted hair growth, weight gain, oily skin, and more.

September is PCOS Awareness Month, so we’ll be sharing resources and info on this disorder all month long. It’s a condition we see and treat often at CCRM Fertility, but having PCOS doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant. You may just need a little help from a fertility specialist, whether that’s with pills to induce ovulation, intrauterine insemination (IUI), or in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Let’s start off with this PCOS starter pack, items that can help you feel your best. Exercising, eating whole grains and lean proteins, staying hydrated, and getting enough sleep are just some of the ways you can combat symptoms.

PS: Have a PCOS question for a CCRM provider? Leave it in the comments below. ⬇️

The rise of “single dads by choice” is reshaping fatherhood in America. Dr. Sheeva Talebian dives into this trend in her latest feature for The Atlantic, exploring how men are making intentional, emotionally driven choices to become parents.

Continuing the conversation, she’ll be at Men Having Babies in New York, September 19–21, offering support and insight to men navigating their own paths to parenthood.

For some men, fatherhood is an answer to questions about modern masculinity.

After nearly a decade of guiding others through life’s toughest moments, Andrea found herself facing a fertility journey she felt completely unprepared for.

✨ 3 egg retrievals
✨ 1 failed transfer
✨ Surgery (parathyroidectomy)
✨ And the unexpected news that she may need donor eggs

As a psychologist, she was no stranger to emotional pain, but infertility brought a different kind of heartbreak — one she couldn’t easily talk her way through.

In 2024, she became a mom through IVF thanks to the team at CCRM Colorado, and in that moment, she made herself a promise: to become the kind of support for others that she couldn’t find when she needed it most.

Today, she offers therapy to those navigating the emotional toll of fertility treatment, pregnancy after loss, and postpartum. Andrea supports her patients with empathy, lived experience, and professional insight.

We’re honored to be part of her story. ❤️
