Is handwritten homework turning into a daily battle at your house? ✏️ Messy letters, uneven spacing, or frustration with writing can point to fine-motor, visual-processing, or attention challenges. Here are a few ways to support improved handwriting at home 👇

🖐️ Build fine motor strength with Play-Doh, Legos, beading, or stress balls
✏️ Support proper pencil grip with pencil grips or shorter pencils
🎨 Improve strength through coloring, tracing, and cutting
📄 Use lined or graph paper to help with letter size and spacing
⏱️ Break writing into short, manageable tasks to reduce frustration
🏃 Add movement breaks to support focus and attention
🔤 Practice letter formation slowly before working on speed

💡 Stickers can help make routines feel more rewarding. Consider using a sticker chart for tasks such as brushing teeth, getting ready in the morning, or finishing homework. Focus on effort and consistency rather than perfection.

💬 Stickers can also support emotional check-ins. Let your child pick one that shows how they’re feeling. This can be a fun, low-pressure way to start meaningful conversations.
