The Core Exam is a major milestone for every radiology resident. It tests their knowledge across all areas of diagnostic radiology and demonstrates their readiness to advance in the specialty.

Yesterday, HCA Florida Aventura Hospital celebrated the retirement of our Director of Imaging Services, Annette Watt, with a party. The conference room had at least 50 people in it including Dr. Nisha Mani, the chair of the radiology department, and Janene Markuske, MBA, FRBMA, our Executive Director.

Everyone at IntelliRad wishes Annette a happy retirement and hopes she enjoys her extra time to travel with her husband and snuggle her grandkids!

With our recent expansion to HCA Florida West Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, we have expanded our radiology team. IntelliRad is pleased to welcome Dr. Omer Zaman!

Dr. Zaman received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed his radiology residency at Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai West in New York City. Following residency, he stayed in NYC to attend a neuroradiology fellowship at NYU Langone. After fellowship, he worked for a large private practice in Michigan where he served on the group's investment and quality committees.

Dr. Zaman currently lives in the Detroit suburbs in Michigan with his wife. He enjoys traveling, history, languages, reading, weightlifting, hiking, and meditation.

With the addition of our newest hospital partner, HCA Florida West Hospital, we are expanding our diagnostic radiology team. IntelliRad is pleased to welcome Dr. Daniel "Lee" Stock to our radiology team!

Dr. Stock received his medical degree from the University of Texas HSC at San Antonio. He completed his radiology residency at Michigan State University (Spectrum Health) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Following residency, he attended a musculoskeletal (MSK) fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. After fellowship, he worked for a radiology group in Texas for a year before moving to Arkansas where he was a partner for a small group practice. He worked there for a number of years before pursuing a teleradiologist position with IntelliRad Imaging.

Dr. Stock currently lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas with his wife and three kids. He bike riding, hiking, soccer, and learning new things.

🧠 May is Stroke Awareness Month! At IntelliRad Imaging, we want to emphasize the critical importance of recognizing stroke symptoms quickly. Every second counts when it comes to minimizing the long-term effects of a stroke.

Did you know that stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability and the fifth leading cause of death in the United States? According to the CDC, someone in the U.S. has a stroke every 40 seconds, and someone dies from a stroke every 3.5 minutes. These statistics highlight the urgency of understanding the signs.

Remember the BE FAST acronym to help identify stroke symptoms:

𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: Sudden loss of balance or coordination
𝐄𝐲𝐞𝐬: Sudden vision changes in one or both eyes
𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞: Drooping of one side of the face
𝐀𝐫𝐦: Weakness or numbness in one arm
𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡: Difficulty speaking or understanding
𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞: Call 911 immediately if you notice any of these signs.

Timely diagnosis through imaging plays a crucial role in effective stroke management. At IntelliRad Imaging, we're committed to providing rapid and accurate imaging services to aid in the swift treatment of stroke patients. Last year, we responded to nearly 4,000 stroke alerts (non-contrast CT brain) at our partner hospitals.
