Hello everyone! My name is Ely, and I’m one of DEIA’s occupational therapists. Continuing our “Day in the Life” series, I wanted to share what a typical morning looks like for me.

I truly believe every kiddo has the ability to learn and thrive when given the right tools, strategies, and encouragement. It’s such a privilege to help these amazing kiddos every day!

Hello everyone! My name is Javi, and I’m the owner of DEIA and a physical therapist. I wanted to continue the “Day in the Life” series we started last week.

First and foremost, I’m a proud dad to two little ones, Gianna and Matteo, and one of DEIA’s physical therapists. This is a glimpse into what a typical day looks like for me.

I grew up surrounded by sports and always knew I wanted to make a difference through movement. Now, I get to combine that passion with my career—helping kiddos and families reach their full potential every single day.

I’m so grateful for the work I get to do and the families I get to support.

Hi everyone, Eli here—speech-language pathologist with DEIA. I wanted to share what a “Day in the Life” looks like for me. I’m a mom of two boys (6 and 4 years old) and one of DEIA’s speech-language pathologists. This is what one of my longer days looks like: I typically see anywhere from 8–10 kiddos on my FULL days, mostly in person but also through teletherapy.

I absolutely love what I do and the amazing kiddos I get to help. The days are long, but they are always worth it.

Lily is a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist 🌎💬 who loves helping children find their voice 🎤 and grow their confidence 🌟.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology 🧠 from Florida International University 🐾 and her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology 🎓 from Carlos Albizu University. Lily is also a proud certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) 📜✨.

Over the years, Lily has had the privilege of working with children of all ages 👶👧🧒 across private clinics, schools 🏫, and home health settings 🏡. She is continually inspired by the small (and big!) victories 🎉 her patients achieve.

Natalia is a dedicated physical therapist 💪 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences 🎓. She also earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology & Kinesiology from the University of Florida 🐊.

Growing up in a big, close-knit family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, Natalia developed a strong passion for working with children 🤎 and helping them reach their full movement potential 🏃‍♀️✨.

Her lifelong love for tennis 🎾 and dance 💃 not only shaped her personal life but also deepened her interest in the world of physical therapy.

✨ Meet Elizabeth (Ely) Aguilar, MSOT, OTR/L ✨
👩‍⚕️ Occupational Therapist

Ely is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist 🤎 with a passion for helping children build confidence & independence through play 🎲✨ and functional activities.

Her journey into the field began as a swimming instructor for the Special Olympics 🏊‍♀️🏅, where she discovered the joy of teaching kids new skills and supporting their growth 🌱. This early experience, combined with her love for psychology 🧠 and the medical field 🩺, inspired her to pursue a career in occupational therapy.

🎓 Ely earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2019) and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (2021)—both from Florida International University (FIU) 🐾. While at FIU, she was inducted into Pi Theta Epsilon, the national honor society for OT students 📚🌟, which promotes leadership, research, and excellence.

Since graduating, Ely has gained experience in a variety of settings 🏫🏡🏥—including clinics, schools, and homes—supporting children of all ages and developmental needs 💕. She has continued to grow her skills with trainings in:

Deia’s Summer Readiness Program will continue to work on academic skills built throughout this school year and develop the necessary foundation for the upcoming school year’s expectations. Our therapists will combine their specialized backgrounds with the guidance of local teachers to really target desired outcomes.

It will consist of two 60-minute sessions weekly in your home, school, summer camp, or daycare with the availability to increase the amount of visits weekly. Our focus on the in-person skills will drive the family’s engagement coupled with extensive resources to continue outside our shared time. Our approach is always play-based and individualized for every child.
