One of the biggest concerns parents have is not knowing what to expect during an evaluation.

The good news is… it’s not a test, and there’s no pressure on your child to “perform.”

Evaluations are designed to feel natural, supportive, and centered around your child’s strengths and needs.

Through play, observation, conversation, and appropriate assessments, we’re able to understand how your child communicates, moves, and interacts with the world around them.

From there, we work with you to create a plan that supports their growth in a way that feels realistic and meaningful for your family.

💛 You’re not expected to have all the answers, that’s what we’re here for.

We get asked about milestones all the time… especially when parents notice their child doing things a little earlier or later than others.

The truth is, development isn’t a straight line. There’s a wide range of what’s considered typical.

These milestones are general guidelines, not strict deadlines.

But if your child is consistently avoiding certain movements, struggling with balance, or having difficulty keeping up with peers, it may be worth taking a closer look.

Physical therapy helps children build the strength, coordination, and confidence they need to move through their world with ease.

💛 And if you’re ever unsure, asking questions is always a good place to start

You see your child every day… running, playing, climbing, falling.

So when something feels a little off, you notice.

Sometimes it’s nothing. Kids grow, develop, and figure things out in their own time.

But sometimes, those small signs: frequent falls, avoiding certain movements, or struggling to keep up… are your child’s way of telling you they need a little extra support.

Physical therapy isn’t just about movement. It’s about helping children build strength, confidence, and the ability to fully participate in play and everyday life.

✨ Trust your instincts. You know your child best.

Parents often ask us, “How do I know if my child might need OT?”

The truth is, it usually shows up in everyday moments… play, routines, transitions, and daily tasks.

If your child is struggling with things that seem harder than expected for their age, it doesn’t mean something is wrong.

It just might mean they could benefit from extra support.

Occupational therapy helps children build the skills they need to feel more confident, independent, and successful in their daily lives.

💬 If you ever feel unsure, it’s always okay to ask questions, we’re here to help guide you.

One of the most common questions we hear:

“Is my child just a late talker… or is this something more?”

The truth is, it’s not always easy to tell—and every child develops differently.

Some children catch up on their own, while others benefit from early support to build communication skills.

If you ever feel unsure, it’s always okay to ask questions or seek guidance. Early intervention can make a meaningful difference in a child’s development and confidence.

💬 If you have concerns about your child’s speech or language, feel free to reach out—we’re here to help.

2025 at DEIA Therapy ✨

A year of growth, impact, and showing up for children and families—everywhere they are.

From schools and homes to daycares and virtual sessions, our team of PTs, OTs, and SLPs continued doing what we do best: meeting kids where they are and helping them thrive.

This year, we expanded our team, strengthened our systems, deepened our community partnerships, and stayed grounded in what matters most—quality care, equity, and heart-led therapy.

Here’s a look at 2025 through the lens of DEIA Therapy 🤍
