The Power of Black Birth Workers in Maternal Health✨🤰🏾

Black midwives, doulas, and birth advocates have been at the forefront of improving maternal health outcomes for generations. Their work is essential in providing culturally competent care, reducing birth complications, and advocating for Black families.

📢 Why Black Birth Workers Matter:
💡 They provide personalized, holistic care that centers Black maternal experiences.
💡 Studies show midwifery and doula support improve birth outcomes and reduce disparities.
💡 Supporting and amplifying Black birth workers strengthens communities and saves lives.

🖤 Let’s continue the conversation beyond Black History Month! Tag a birth worker you appreciate and share how their work has impacted you.

In closing Black History Month, we’re honoring Black Maternal Health Advocates: Meet Elaine Welteroth Welteroth ✨🤰🏾

Black women in the U.S. face maternal mortality rates nearly 3.5 times higher than their white counterparts. This Black History Month, we’re shining a light on Elaine Welteroth, an award-winning journalist and maternal health advocate making real change. 🖤✨

After her own transformative birthing experience at a Black-owned birthing center, Elaine launched birthFUND—a movement to provide more families with access to midwifery care and safe, empowering birthing experiences. 💕 Since its launch in 2024, birthFUND has already supported over 50 families!

📢 Why It Matters:
💡 Black maternal health disparities are a systemic issue, not an individual one.
💡 Midwifery and doula care reduce birth complications and improve outcomes.
💡 Advocacy and funding are key to ensuring every Black mother receives the care she deserves.

In closing Black History Month we're Honoring Black Resilience in Fertility & Reproductive Health 🖤✨

As Black History Month comes to a close, our commitment to Black fertility health and awareness continues. For too long, Black individuals and families have faced barriers in reproductive healthcare—higher infertility rates, limited access to care, and staggering maternal health disparities. But through education, advocacy, and support, we are rewriting the narrative.

💡 Why Black Fertility Awareness Matters:
✨ Black women are twice as likely to experience infertility but less likely to seek treatment.
✨ Black maternal mortality rates remain alarmingly high due to systemic inequities.
✨ Access to culturally competent care, midwives, and fertility specialists can change lives.

This month, we celebrated the pioneers, the advocates, and the changemakers fighting for reproductive justice. But our work doesn’t stop here!

To our Black families on this journey—whether you're trying to conceive, navigating loss, or seeking better healthcare—you are seen, heard, and supported. Your story matters, your health matters, and your dreams of parenthood are valid. 💙

Let’s continue breaking the stigma, demanding better care, and uplifting each other in this journey. Tag someone who inspires you, and let’s keep this conversation going! ⬇️
