July is Minority Mental Health Month — and at CEATT, we’re getting real about the mental and emotional impact of immigration policy on our communities.

🎙️ On this powerful episode of Mental Wellness for the Culture, hosted by our very own Belinda Gordon-Battle, we’re talking about what uncertainty around TPS (Temporary Protected Status) really feels like—from the inside out.

Featuring:
📌Former State Senator Dwight Bullard
📌Immigration Attorney Sandra Cherfrere
📌Therapist + CEATT Founder Delphine Gervais, LCSW-QS

We’re unpacking:
⚖️ Legal realities
💔 Lived experiences
🛠️ Mental health strategies for resilience

📣 Your voice matters. Watch, share, and drop a comment to let us know how immigration policies have impacted you or someone you love.

Big love to our sponsors:

Natural disaster trauma is more than the event itself—it’s the invisible weight that lingers after the waters recede.

What is Natural Disaster Trauma?
It’s the lasting emotional and psychological distress caused by disasters like floods, hurricanes, and fires.

Symptoms may include:
• Hypervigilance or anxiety
• Trouble sleeping
• Guilt (especially for first responders or survivors)
• Difficulty concentrating or feeling “normal” again

At CEATT, we provide trauma-informed care and therapy for individuals and families coping with the aftermath of crisis.

Whether you lived through one—or helped someone else survive it—your experience matters, and your healing matters.

CEATT Clinician Yeumica Ferguson represented our team at the Returning Citizens event. The event shifted beautifully into an information-sharing space.

Attendees received valuable mental health resources, and guest speaker Melissa led a calming relaxation technique that offered a moment of grounding and peace.

Even when the room is small, the work is still big. We’re grateful for every opportunity to meet people with care, information, and healing.

It was a full and fulfilling day for our CEATT Champions at the Tabernacle of Glory Health & Wellness Fair, engaging directly with our Haitian community!

Over 40 individuals signed up to learn more, and many others stopped by to hear about our trauma-informed, no-cost mental health services.

The look of surprise and relief on people’s faces when they heard, “you don’t have to pay for therapy,” reminded us exactly why we show up.

Thank you to our hosts, our volunteers, and to every person who stepped under our tent with curiosity, hope, or need. We see you, and we’re here for you.

Each June, we spotlight Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month—a critical opportunity to educate ourselves and our communities about the signs, risks, and importance of early detection when it comes to brain health. Alzheimer’s disease doesn’t always show up in obvious ways at first, and unfortunately, early symptoms are often mistaken for stress, depression, or anxiety.

Subtle changes—like difficulty finding words, short-term memory lapses, disorientation, or mood swings—can begin years before a diagnosis. Because these symptoms often mimic common mental health concerns, it's easy for families to overlook or misattribute them. That’s why both medical and mental health screenings are essential. Early screening supports early intervention, which is key in slowing disease progression and improving quality of life.

CEATT was honored to join the Hues of Healing: Yoga in the Park wellness experience hosted by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Alpha Gamma Delta Omega Chapter.

From calming yoga sessions to live cooking demos and vital mental health resources, the event offered a powerful reminder: healing doesn’t only happen in therapy rooms—it happens in the open air, in safe spaces, and in shared moments of rest and restoration.

We were grateful to connect with community members of all ages and share how CEATT provides no-cost, trauma-informed mental health care to those who need it most.

Big thanks to our partners for inviting us into this beautiful, intentional space. We’re walking and stretching toward healing together.
