Mariposas Holistic

Mariposas Holistic I help transform stress and trauma into inner peace through holistic wellness.

Mariposas Holistic began in 2014 as a path to help people heal their trauma and stress. The business was founded by Paty “Mariposa” Hernandez-Montoya who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Trauma Therapist, and Usui Reiki Master/Teacher. She birthed this business out of her own grief and trauma following the deaths of her sister, mother, and boyfriend who all passed within 5 years. Since 2021 she has shifted teaching Reiki and stress reduction coaching to include a trauma-informed perspective. She uses her gifts to assist people with a history of trauma through complementary modalities and with a self-care focus to reduce stress naturally. Reiki is a Japanese word that means universal life energy and is a form of energy healing that works to restore balance and promote well-being through a spiritual lens. Reiki helps to reduce stress, promote relaxation, reduce pain, and support healing on all levels – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Reiki and holistic healing promote a sense of well-being, balance, and harmony in the body, mind, and spirit. It can help to reduce stress, bring clarity and focus, and support the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

If you’ve heard that Reiki is woo woo and thus have paused in practicing it because you can’t understand it or explain it, then let me help you reframe that belief.

It’s about nervous system safety and is research based. It’s intention is to support inner peace through a spiritual practice.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮-𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆, 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗶:

• Supports parasympathetic regulation

• Strengthens energetic boundaries
* Is ethical

It is not a replacement for therapy or medical care.
It is a complement to embodied holistic healing.

𝗢𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆, I want to honor the often unseen strength I see in so many heart centered women.

T𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼:
Hold grief without collapsing and often holding up others.
Sit with pain without turning away.
Show up even when their own tank is low.

Yet strength without support becomes depleted.

𝗦𝗼 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆…

You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to receive.
You are allowed to rise without burning out. Tag a woman you care about and want to celebrate.

But people-pleasing can be subtle.
Especially in high-functioning, capable women.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝟰 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗜 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀:
Chronic over-responsibility for other people’s emotions
Difficulty trusting your own perception
Feeling guilty for having boundaries
Believing communication is confrontational

These are not character flaws.
They are adaptive survival responses.

Many women were conditioned over time to override discomfort in order to maintain connection, especially during childhood.

Constantly apologizing.

If you’ve already completed Reiki Level 1, you know how powerful this work can be.

Level 2 is where your practice deepens.

And when it’s trauma-sensitive… everything changes.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 👇🏽

🌿 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆.
Traditional Reiki teaches energy flow.
Trauma-Sensitive Reiki teaches you how to work with the nervous system gently and safely.
You don’t just place your hands.
You learn to recognize cues.
You learn to pace sessions.
You learn how to create true emotional safety and practice ethically.

🌿 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘅 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆.

Some dissociate.
Some feel overwhelmed by stillness.

• Use grounding intentionally
• Work with consent in deeper ways
• Respond to emotional release safely

🌿 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀.
Many healers quietly wonder:
“What if I trigger something?”
“What if I don’t know what to do?”

Level 2 gives you structure.
Language.
Ethical clarity.

A trauma-informed lens that protects both you and your client.
