This past weekend we laid to rest one of the most monumental figures in my life — my grandfather, Astley George Ramsay, 95 years strong.

As the 4th grandchild, I grew up in the middle — observer, mediator, listener. Long before degrees and licenses, Papa was shaping the heart that would become a therapist. That space between everyone else became the genesis of my story.

His rules were simple: fear God, honor our grandmother and parents, and never dishonor the Ramsay name.

After a job offer, meeting the love of my life, or finding out I was pregnant — he was one of my first calls. In disappointments he cried and prayed with me. In victories he cheered and proudly bragged about his granddaughter.

Seven grandchildren now living the legacy he poured into us.
