FINAL DAY to sign the petition! bit.ly/keepspecialedwithdoe

Interested in sharing your thoughts on keeping the U.S. Department of Education open then sign and share to let your voices be heard!

The petition expresses concern about moving the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) out of the U.S. Department of Education.

Parent to Parent of Miami, along with many families, educators, and disability organizations across the country, all have significant concerns about what this type of change could mean for students with disabilities, their families and the protections provided under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Details remain unclear, and no formal changes have been announced.

Special education, and providing the support and information parents need to make informed decisions for their children's education and wellbeing is our top priority at Parent to Parent of Miami.

Interested in sharing your thoughts on keeping the U.S. Department of Education open? Don't miss your chance to sign the petition by this Friday, 1/16! bit.ly/keepspecialedwithdoe

There have been recent media reports and statements from national disability organizations regarding the possibility of federal oversight of special education being moved from the U.S. Department of Education to another federal agency, such as the Department of Health and Human Services or the Department of Labor.

As part of this national conversation, a petition is circulating expressing concern about moving the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) out of the U.S. Department of Education. If you want to add your voice, you may choose to sign the petition by Friday, January 16th. We encourage families to stay informed and ask questions.

Parent to Parent of Miami is committed to the families in Miami-Dade County who have children with disabilities and we're here to help you navigate special education, and provide the support and information parents need to make informed decisions for their children's education and wellbeing.
