โœจ Milestone Monday โœจ

Big communication skills start with small, meaningful interactions ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿ’›

In speech therapy, moments like these help children build foundational language skills through play-based learning and connection. During activities like this, we may target:

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Expressive language โ€“> using words to request, label, and comment
๐Ÿ‘‚ Receptive language โ€“> understanding directions and concepts
๐Ÿค Social communication โ€“> turn-taking, joint attention, and engagement
๐Ÿง  Cognitive skills โ€“> problem-solving, attention, and following routines

Every shared smile, gesture, and word is a step toward stronger communication and greater confidence ๐ŸŒŸ

โœจ Milestone Monday โœจ

Messy play = meaningful growth! ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’›

And moments like these are where learning truly comes to life through play.

Sensory bins arenโ€™t just fun, theyโ€™re powerful tools for development! As children scoop, pour, and explore, theyโ€™re working on:

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Fine motor strength & hand-eye coordination.
๐Ÿ‘€ Sustained attention and visual tracking.
๐Ÿงฉ Problem-solving, imagination, and creativity.
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Language development through shared play and conversation.
๐Ÿค Social skills like turn-taking, sharing, and teamwork.

These hands-on experiences help build the foundation for important everyday skills like writing, following directions, and engaging with peers. โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฌ

At Children In Motion, we love incorporating play-based activities that support growth in a fun, meaningful way; because when kids are engaged, they learn best! ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ’ก Try this at home: Create your own sensory bin using dry pasta, rice, or beans. Add scoops, cups, or small toys to encourage exploration, pretend play, and language use!

Whatโ€™s your childโ€™s favorite sensory activity? Tell us below! โฌ‡๏ธ๐Ÿ’ญ

โ˜€๏ธ Summer is just around the corner! โ˜€๏ธ

And Children In Motion will be hosting three fun and engaging summer camps this year! ๐ŸŽ‰

Each camp is designed to help children build important speech, language, motor, literacy, and planning skills while having a great time through hands-on activities, games, and play led by our pediatric therapists.

Hereโ€™s a sneak peek at what we have planned:

๐ŸŒŸ Move, Play & Say
A therapist-guided camp focused on building school readiness skills through movement and structured play. Campers will strengthen motor skills, social interaction, confidence, and speech & language skills in a fun and supportive environment.

๐Ÿ“š Read, Write & Shine
A therapist-led camp designed to support handwriting, reading, and literacy development. Through storytelling, creative activities, and play-based learning, children will build reading comprehension, writing skills, vocabulary, and motor skills while growing their confidence in the classroom.

๐Ÿง  Think, Plan & Do
A camp focused on building executive functioning skillsโ€”helping children learn how to plan, stay organized, focus, and complete tasks. Through engaging challenges and hands-on activities, campers will strengthen problem-solving, attention, and self-regulation.

โœจ Perfect for children who would benefit from extra support while learning, growing, and having fun this summer!
