Opening this spring on Coral Way, Takay, will mark the area’s first omakase restaurant. Founder Yoni Matz brings a hospitality-driven approach alongside his partner and founder Glen Kotlyarski who draws on decades of experience in fine dining and Michelin-starred omakase restaurants. The result is an intimate 10-seat concept offering just two seatings per night, providing a precise, seasonal and deeply personal chef-led experience - designed to take the intimidation out of omakase.

Designed by Japan-based architecture firm KTX, the space blends traditional Japanese craftsmanship with subtle nods to Miami, creating a calm, immersive setting.

Kung Fu Chicken debuted on Washington Avenue with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Miami Beach Mayor and the , hosted by founders .yubi and Dr. Tingjun Lei.

Media, influencers and community leaders moved between tasting stations, enjoying the brand’s 24-hour marinated chicken served in sandwiches and wraps with house-made sauces, alongside flavorful sides and smoothies. Mascot Jojo sparked playful photo moments, while a live DJ kept the room energized from start to finish.

Following the success of its Little Havana and Florida International University locations, Kung Fu Chicken continues to build momentum in South Florida with a menu that honors global street food traditions from China, Japan, Korea and Thailand, offering bold flavors prepared with intention and balance.
