Space doesn’t just change your perspective… it changes your vision.

Astronauts on Artemis II may experience shifts in their vision due to microgravity. In space, fluids in the body move upward toward the head, increasing pressure around the eyes and even changing the shape of the eye itself.
This can lead to blurry vision, farsighted shifts, and something known as spaceflight-associated neuro-ocular syndrome (SANS).
And yes… some astronauts come back needing a different prescription.
Add in the phenomenon of “light flashes” caused by cosmic radiation interacting with the retina, and space becomes one of the most extreme environments for your visual system.
Your eyes evolved for Earth… not orbit.

We are always so proud of our new prescriptions even if it just improves the patient's vision by a few letters. Sure you were 20/20 in your old glasses but now you're 20/20+2! It's amazing!
