Kids notice differences early and what shapes their understanding isn’t whether they notice, but how we respond. 💛

When we approach conversations about race, identity, and diversity with curiosity and warmth, we help children build empathy, emotional awareness, and a strong, healthy sense of self. Silence doesn’t prevent bias, it simply removes guidance.

Dr. Tash shares why these conversations are essential for your child’s mental health and how to navigate them with confidence and care.

Join us in wishing Liz, our incredible Office Manager, the happiest birthday! 🎉💛

Today we had the honor of celebrating the woman who keeps our front desk (and all of us) grounded, supported, and smiling. No matter how busy things get, Liz welcomes everyone with warmth, compassion, and that calm, kind voice our team and patients truly adore. She goes above and beyond every single day—and somehow still makes everyone feel seen and cared for.

Liz, you’re a lifesaver… and honestly, the best “therapist” in between sessions 😉 We’re so lucky to have you. Happy Birthday! 🥳✨

With Valentine’s Day in the air, we wanted to share something that can be genuinely helpful—whether you’re in a relationship, dating, healing, or just thinking about what you want next. 💌

Attachment styles can shape how we connect, communicate, and handle conflict (sometimes on autopilot). The good news? Patterns can change.

➡️ Read our latest blog, Attachment Styles: Why Relationship Patterns Repeat (and How Therapy Helps)—written by Dr. Osuni Roque. Link in bio to read + learn more about Dr. Roque.

January often comes with pressure to reinvent ourselves — but for many, traditional resolutions can reinforce diet culture, perfectionism, and self-criticism.

In her latest blog, Anais Torres ( ), LMHC, clinician at South Miami Psychology Group and President of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals Miami Chapter ( ), explores a gentler alternative: shifting from rigid resolutions to intention-setting rooted in compassion, intuition, and emotional well-being.

This approach can be especially supportive for those in eating disorder recovery or healing their relationship with food and their body.

✨ You are not a problem to be fixed.
✨ You are a human worthy of care.

📖 Read the full blog linked in our bio to explore reflection prompts and intention-based practices for the New Year.
If this resonates, support is available — you don’t have to navigate it alone.

South Miami Psychology Group’s Therapist Thanksgiving Gratitude List:

🧠 Clients who are doing the hard, invisible work
🛋 People who decided to start therapy this year
⏸ The brave “I need help” conversations
🐾 Pets who attend telehealth sessions
🛋 The couch that has held so many stories
🧻 The tissue box that never judges
⏱ The brave “Can I say something I’ve never said out loud?” moments
🧠 Clients who show up even when they’d rather hide under the covers
