We are a women's mental health group that dedicates ourselves to providing individual, couples, and family counseling.
We primarily focus on antenatal and postpartum mood disorders. However, my team and I also treat women who suffer from neonatal loss or any other woman-related issue. Understanding that with children come scheduling conflicts, we welcome you to bring your child(ren). As part of the postpartum treatment regime, our clinicians will go to your home for the first three sessions, and then you are encouraged to complete the remaining sessions at one of our main offices.
In addition we offer other women's services such as therapy for infidelity, stress and mood disorders not related to pregnancy.
Groups are also offered such as a Pregnancy support group, postpartum support groups, and infant massage groups.
We either come to you, or you can come to us. We can go to your home, or engage in âwalk and talkâ by either visiting your local park or walking around your neighborhood.
With training and experience in the main evidence-based psychotherapies, we work flexibly and collaboratively with other clinicians, tailoring therapy to the needs of each client we see.
Dr. Yolanda Gonzalez, PsyD, LMHC
I received a dual Masterâs Degree in Mental Health & Marital, Couple, and Family Therapy from Barry University in 2009. I then attained my Doctoral in Psychology Degree from Albizu University.
For the past ten years I have held many different types of positions such as the Director of Mental Health at At-Risk outpatient Juvenile facilities, to completing my practicum hours at a Childrenâs hospital, and as a clinician at a local jail, and at a community mental health center. I have had the privilege of working in a variety of settings with diverse populations.
After more than decade in the mental health field, first as a student and now as a practitioner, I have found that those with a genuine desire for mental health services sometimes simply don't have the time to receive them. As a mother of four children, I also know of the obstacles that come with leaving your home to go to therapy. Knowing first hand of the difficulties associated with finding and receiving mental health services, I created a private practice with the goal of making it easy to receive treatment.
As the saying goes, âdo what you love, and you will never work a day in your lifeâ. Every day is paradise for me and I consider myself very lucky and privileged to work with each and every one of my clients. Trusting me to help you is the greatest gift you can give me.
Personal Experience
Having had the opportunity to work with such diversity, I have taken an interest and have dedicated myself to working with women who suffer from perinatal and postpartum disorders, and with psychoeducational testing. I am personally aware of the unspoken difficulties that come with being a mother and have made a promise to myself to help as many mothers as I possibly can as I believe every mother needs support and words of encouragement.
In addition, although psychoeducational testing is unrelated to motherhood, I have had a great amount of training in psychoeducational testing, and have been fascinated with testing and how it can potentially improve a childâs academic and social success.
Now you can find me in Psychology Today's directory for more about ours services and treatments.
