💡 Blink Smart, Protect Your Eyes 👁️

Did you know that your blink rate drops by nearly 50% when using screens? Whether you're working on a computer, scrolling your phone, or binge-watching, less blinking means less moisture, leading to dry eyes, irritation, and blurry vision.

This is known as Digital Eye Strain.
Simple Fix: Make a conscious effort to blink more often while using screens.
Blinking keeps your eyes lubricated and your tear film stable, reducing discomfort and fatigue.

Try this easy rule:
20-20-20 Rule: Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds… and remember to blink!

Struggling with screen-related eye discomfort?

Visit Eyes on Brickell for a comprehensive eye exam. Our expert team will assess your eye health and provide solutions tailored to your digital lifestyle.

Noticed a yellowish bump on the white part of your eye? It could be a pinguecula - a common, non-cancerous eye condition caused by UV exposure, dust, or dryness.
It’s non-cancerous and caused by factors like:

👉 Prolonged sun exposure
👉 Wind and dust
👉 Dry eyes or screen strain
👉 Contact lens irritation

It’s generally harmless, but it can cause irritation, dryness, or redness. While it doesn’t usually require treatment, lubricating eye drops or prescription ointments can help. In some cases, surgical removal is considered for cosmetic or comfort reasons.

If you’re noticing unusual bumps or discomfort in your eyes, don’t wait.
Visit Eyes on Brickell for a comprehensive eye check-up from our trusted eye care professionals.

Fundus photos and advanced scans help eye doctors accurately diagnose and treat the root issue.

Noticed a bump on your eyelid and wondering if it’s a stye or a chalazion? 🤔 While they may look similar, they’re quite different—and knowing which one you’re dealing with is key to proper treatment.

STYE (Hordeolum):

👉 Caused by a bacterial infection
👉 Typically painful and red
👉 Located near the lash line
👉 Often filled with pus, like a pimple
👉 Can cause swelling in the entire eyelid

CHALAZION:

👉 Caused by a blocked oil gland (not infection)
👉 Usually painless or mildly tender
👉 Located farther back on the eyelid
👉 May grow slowly over a few days
👉 Can linger longer than a stye

While both can resolve on their own, warm compresses and proper hygiene help speed recovery. However, if the bump grows, becomes painful, or affects your vision, don’t ignore it—it’s time to see an eye care specialist.

At Eyes on Brickell, we offer expert diagnosis and treatment for all eyelid concerns, including styes and chalazions. Let us help you see—and feel—better.
