Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital

For the last 33 days, the tiny but freaking mighty hospital/ICU named BETHESDA WEST has used every Herculean measure to keep my Mom alive... & SUCCEEDED. They literally saved her. They saved her again. They saved yet again. They refused to ever let anything get in the way of my mother’s recovery. In my life I have met many heroes, but none as supreme as the medical staff & leadership at this hospital.

To Doctor Keith Foster, thank you for your tireless leadership, your restless nights & your constant communication. Thank you to Anna Rosacker & Betty Pelissier for always steering the ship and Joe Natoli for always checking in on us. To my Mom’s surgeon, Doctor Rennie Martinez, I don’t know that I have ever met a surgeon as confident and as reassuring and as brilliant as you. Please feel free to cut me open whenever you think it’s best😂. To the tireless team of Internists including: Singh, Baum, Palumbo, Loufti, Breit, Kessler and the many others, thank you for always caring and always fighting to keep Mom stable. I need to give a special thanks to Respiratory: Respiratory team: Mera Broktor, Herve ,Sherick, Lavern,, Christian, Merci, Patrick, Randy, and Yesina (& I know I’m missing people but know we love you!)

I want to thank the incredible neurology team (Rosenbaum and Dragomir) , cardiology team (Dr. Goldgrab and Heller), infectious disease team (Kiminyo), OT/PT (Jason, Benjamin, Kelly, Adeline, and Dorothy); Dr. Mehta from gastro & the residents like Justin and Jen and our nighttime hero Josh Heatwole. Then there is the nursing staff. I never really understood until now that these are the people who truly are the Avengers of the ICU system.There are simply too many names to mention, but I need to thank Michelle, Karen, Kayla, Lucien, Diana, Odette, Julio, and Anide. Also, a special thanks to David at security who brightened our morning every day & asked about my Mom.

Finally, to our amazing medical friends who helped steer the ship from afar. Thank you to my brothers & ; to my incredible surrogate sisters & Doctors Green, Merenda & Spirt. Now off to REHAB🙏💪
