30th Annual Florida Bioethics Conference Set for April 29

MIAMI – The university of Miami Miller School of Medicine Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy and the Florida Bioethics Network (FBN) have the privilege to announce the 30th anniversary of the “Florida Bioethics: Debates, Decisions, Solutions” conference, thought to be the largest and longest-running community ethics events in the country.

This year’s program will be online and will feature presentations on Florida’s new abortion law, the role of the clergy on hospital ethics services and committees, and the FBN’s work to build ethics capacity at Florida’s healthcare institutions for the past three decades. Additional events will follow through the end of the year.

The conference is made possible with the support of leading regional hospitals and other health care institutions, which have identified professional development in ethics as an essential component of high quality practice. These include UHealth, including the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the Miami VA, and the Jackson Health System.
