On Thursday, our Care Club led a meaningful Cancer Awareness Evening, honoring those affected by cancer and inspiring our community to take action.
The event brought together members of the Live Like Bella Club, Agape Prayer Group and National Honor Society, who each played a role in the evening’s activities. The Live Like Bella Club partnered with OneBlood to host a blood drive, uniting students in a lifesaving effort, collecting donations that will help local hospitals provide critical transfusions and treatments to patients in need.
The Agape Prayer Group led the rosary, offering heartfelt prayers for cancer fighters, survivors and those who have passed away. The evening also featured a powerful testimony by Aliette Arner ’96, whose words reminded students of the strength found in faith, hope and sisterhood.
Throughout the month, the National Honor Society and Care Club have led luminary sales in support of Cancer Awareness, helping light the way toward hope and healing. With 1,427 luminaries sold to date, our community has raised an incredible $7,135 to support the fight against cancer. Sales will continue through October 31, with all proceeds benefiting local organizations dedicated to research, treatment and patient care.
We thank Nicole de Lara Puente ’96 from , Manny Alfonso from , Eric Pino from and Victoria Milian ’20 from for joining us and sharing how these contributions make a meaningful impact in the lives of those battling cancer.
