Over the past few weeks, our pediatric residents Flavio Veintemilla and Himanshu Meena have been involved in several activities across Miami as part of their Resident Engagement in Advocacy & Community Health (REACH) Rotation, engaging hands-on in keeping kids healthy beyond the hospital walls.
At the Farm Share–Jessie Trice Food Distribution, they volunteered alongside an incredible team helping organize and distribute food to families in Hialeah. It was a powerful reminder of how food access directly impacts the health of our patients.
They also visited Thinking Child Academy in Homestead, where they gave a talk as part of our Food for Salud initiative, sharing practical nutrition tips with kids and encouraging healthier everyday choices.
And through the ENRICH Story Time program, they spent time at the West Kendall Regional Library reading with children while teaching the basics of oral hygiene, making learning fun and interactive.
Different settings, same goal: supporting kids and families in the communities we serve.👨👩👦📚🩺❤️
