🌍❤️ World AIDS Day 2024: A Commitment to Action and Innovation ❤️🌍

As we soon mark the 36th anniversary of World AIDS Day, Care Resource stands united with communities worldwide in the fight against HIV/AIDS. This year’s theme, Collective Action: Sustain and Accelerate HIV Progress, reminds us of the incredible strides we’ve made while highlighting the urgent need to keep moving forward.

💬 “We’ve come so far, but the work isn’t done. World AIDS Day is a call to action—to keep innovating, keep showing up, and ensure no one is left behind.” - Steven Santiago, MD, Interim CEO, Chief Medical Officer

Together, we honor the lives impacted, celebrate the progress made, and commit to sustaining the momentum needed to achieve an AIDS-free future.

They include the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood, the World AIDS Museum & Educational Center, and Hotspots Magazine. By sharing the story of the struggle against HIV/AIDS, we remember, in perpetuity, the lives lost, offer healing, and hope to survivors, and inspire new generations of advocates in the fight against stigma, denial, and hate, for a just future.

Our Story

LET’S MAKE AN IMPACT!

The Surgeon General published the government’s first major statement on HIV prevention; Cleve Jones created the first panel for the AIDS Memorial Quilt; and the FDA had yet to approve any drugs for the treatment of AIDS. HIV/AIDS is now a manageable illness, with a host of medications allowing people to live longer, healthier lives. What hasn’t changed is the fact that people are still getting infected, over 40,000 each year and people living with HIV/AIDS, still require services that are funded by AIDS Walk Miami.

The 31st Annual AIDS Walk Miami is a 5K (3.1 miles) walk-a-thon fundraiser benefiting Care Resource and the Food-for-Life-Network. All funds raised from AIDS Walk Miami are used in Miami-Dade and Broward to help diverse communities in need including case management services, housing assistance, food assistance, counseling, prevention outreach and education, and other support services. Care Resource also offers free, confidential HIV testing.
