A drooping eyelid isn’t always just a cosmetic concern — in many cases, it’s a medical one.
Ptosis occurs when the upper eyelid droops low enough to partially block vision. While it can make you look tired or older, what matters most is how it can affect your ability to see clearly and comfortably throughout the day.
I see patients with ptosis for many different reasons. It can be present from birth, develop over time, or occur after trauma or certain medical conditions. The good news is that ptosis repair is a safe and effective procedure, and in many cases, it may be covered by insurance when it impacts vision.
My approach is always thorough and individualized — taking the time to understand both the functional and aesthetic needs of each patient.
If you think you or someone you love may have ptosis, I’d be happy to guide you through your options.
