Have you ever known someone with a mental illness? How did/does the illness impact his/her life? What have you learned about this mental illness just from knowing them?
When I was in junior high school, one of my class mates became mentally ill. During class time he would stand up and start talking to himself. Sometimes he will scream out loud as if he was arguing with someone. Our instructor called his parents and after few days we did not see him again. Every morning our teacher would ask us to pray for him because he was mentally ill. Me and a couple of friends stopped by his house a couple of times but we were not allowed to see him.
In my country I saw a lot of mentally ill people on the street homeless, no one to care for them because everyone is afraid of them. Most people do not have money to take them to the doctor so when the illness get worse they are left alone.
