Troubleshooting: What to Do When Your Spa Overheats

While your Wellis spa is built to retain warmth for maximum relaxation and hydrotherapy benefits, sometimes too much heat is too much of a good thing. If your spa feels warmer than usual, here’s what may be happening — and how to stay cool:

🔥 1. High Outside Temps & Direct Sunlight

In summer heat, the spa water can rise above your preferred setting, even if the heater is off.
Try this:
• Switch to Sleep or Economy mode
• Open air valves to boost airflow
• Briefly remove the cover to let heat escape (but don’t forget to put it back on!)

🌀 2. Filtration Cycle Set Too High

Running your filtration too often can build up heat, strain your system, and throw off water chemistry.
Best practice:
Set filtration to F2/Fil2 for efficient operation, stable temps, and longer equipment life.

⚡ 3. Stuck Relay on Heater Circuit

Rare, but serious — if a heater relay gets stuck, the heater may continue running even after the pump stops. This triggers a system shutdown and flow error message.
🛠️ If you suspect this: Contact our support team to safely inspect and replace your spa pack.

Thanks to our dedication to wellness and innovation, Wellis is now the biggest spa manufacturer in Europe. Our production and logistics center is operated by more than 500 people in an 114,800-square-foot facility; overall, we produce more than 700 spas and 20-30 high-quality swim spas per month, and we only plan to grow from there.

It is our goal to grow to bring the Wellis brand to North America and become one of the world’s top hot tub manufacturers. We plan to do that by offering premium solutions in the wellness segment from the heart of Europe.
