Not every ovarian cyst needs surgery, but some shouldn’t wait. 🤍
Last week, Dr. Salazar and Dr. Schell teamed up in the OR to care for a patient with an ovarian cyst requiring surgical treatment.
Simple ovarian cysts are actually very common and can naturally form during ovulation each month. Many are small and resolve on their own, but larger cysts may need closer monitoring or surgery to help prevent complications like ovarian torsion, which can become a surgical emergency.
Moments like these are an important reminder to listen to your body, stay proactive with your health, and never ignore symptoms that feel unusual or persistent. Early conversations and routine care can make all the difference. 💪
