Statistics tell part of the story. People tell the rest.

When we say one donor can save up to eight lives, we’re really talking about more graduations, more weddings, more family moments, and more tomorrows.

Organ donation isn’t just a number, it’s the chance for life to continue in the moments that matter most.

Faith and organ donation go hand in hand.

Within Catholicism, organ donation is recognized as ethically and morally acceptable and encouraged as an act of charity and self-giving. The Vatican and Pope John Paul II have spoken about transplantation as a profound expression of love and communion, allowing one person’s generosity to give life and hope to another.

As we explore religious perspectives on organ donation, we begin with Catholicism and its support of this life-saving act.

Grief is not something to rush through or “get over.” It is a journey that looks different for everyone.🤍

Understanding grief and loss means allowing space for time, rest, reflection, care, movement, and hope.

By talking about grief openly, we honor donor families and all those navigating loss, reminding one another that healing is about learning to live with love, meaning, and renewed hope.

Because of one selfless decision, Deanna received more. More birthdays. More family time. More laughter. More moments.

Deanna received a liver transplant at just 7 months old. Today, she is 12, growing, thriving, and living a life made possible by a donor’s “yes.”

Her story is a powerful reminder that organ donation creates futures filled with moments that matter most.

Life Alliance recently met with the team of Dariel Fernandez, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, to receive important updates as Florida transitions DMV services to local tax collector offices.

These conversations are essential to ensuring continued collaboration, alignment, and accurate information-sharing as changes take place.

Sharing knowledge, inspiring compassion, and celebrating the gift of life.💚

Our team was honored to visit McFatter Technical College in Davie, where staff member Mackenly and volunteer Gail Bouie, a kidney recipient, shared a powerful message about organ, eye, and tissue donation. Through education and lived experience, students were reminded of the profound impact one selfless decision can have on countless lives.

Thank you to McFatter Technical College for welcoming us and creating space for this meaningful conversation.

A mother’s love. A son’s legacy.💚

In a moving article for the Florida Jewish Journal, donor mom Sharon Schwabenbauer shares the story of her son, Joshua, a Lauderhill firefighter and paramedic whose life was defined by service, compassion, and giving to others.

Even in his passing, Joshua continued that mission through his decision to say “yes” to organ donation, saving lives and bringing hope to countless families.

We are grateful to Sharon for her courage, her voice, and for honoring Joshua’s legacy by inspiring others to consider the power of donation. Joshua’s gift of life lives on, and so does his impact.
