People often use these terms interchangeably, but they’re not the same. A heart attack is when blood flow to the heart is blocked. Sudden cardiac arrest is when the heart malfunctions and suddenly stops beating. This one hits home… a coworker suffered from sudden cardiac arrest… he is alive do to the quick actions from other firefighters performing proper CPR and early defibrillation with an AED. 🙏🏼

A 23-year-old Miami firefighter is grateful to be alive following a scary incident during a training exercise.
