Thanks to the partnership between ALC Home Health and FIU Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences — launching the “305 Nursing Initiative” — we’re creating new pathways for local nurses to train, learn, and serve our community. This means real-world clinical rotations in homes and schools, scholarships for nursing students, and more hands ready to care for Miami-Dade families.

We’re humbled by the opportunity to contribute to a stronger, more compassionate healthcare workforce — and deeply thankful to everyone making it possible including our partners at Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Together, we hope to uplift lives, meet growing needs, and honor the spirit of service that defines our community.

Last night our President: Raymond Rodriguez-Torres enjoyed the honor of serving as “Principal for the Day” for Miami-Dade County Public Schools at SW Adult Education Center. He even received an EKG from the students! He enjoyed sharing his career experience in healthcare and his passion for childhood cancer research via Live Like Bella. Thank you Ms. Judy Rodriguez, Mr. Santana and everyone at SW Adult Education Center! We look forward to welcoming your students to ALC one day soon!

This week members of our team visited Florida International University’s college of nursing & health sciences to work in partnership on the “305 Nursing Initiative” to expand nursing and health allied opportunities in our community for nursing graduates & alumni of the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences. FIU grads are being offered opportunities to join our expanding team caring for adults and children at home and while attending school. Thank you FIU for the warm hospitality.
