Day 12: The Miami DDA is making better for residents and their four-legged friends. 🐾

In partnership with and community leaders, the Miami DDA helped bring the Downtown Dog Spot to life by transforming an underutilized area beneath the Metromover into a safe, shaded space where dogs and their owners can gather, play, and connect.

This project demonstrates how reimagining unused areas can enhance the quality of life and strengthen our community.

Day 10: The Miami DDA is driving improvements that make the District safer, more connected, and easier to enjoy.

We’re advancing work along the Baywalk and Riverwalk, helping create a safe, walkable waterfront with the long-term goal of connecting Brickell to Edgewater. Features like new LED Baywalk lights by First Miami Presbyterian Church are part of making the area more inviting for everyone. We also support the Miami River Commission, which helps maintain key waterfront spaces.

To keep people moving, we worked with the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County District 5 to upgrade access to seven Metromover stations, including three in Brickell. These improvements include new crosswalks, bike lanes, ramps, and signage.

Our advocacy also secured $2 million from the State of Florida to support repairs to the Brickell Key Bridge.

Together, these projects are shaping a stronger and more accessible Brickell, Central Business District, and Arts & Entertainment District for everyone.
