Hi, we have an entire career in healthcare based around educating and helping people with nutrition. We are licensed dietitians and we have countless hours of nutrition education. Our purpose is to help people use food to prevent disease, feel great and improve their lives. (Just to name a few)

While I do appreciate that doctors should have some basic knowledge in nutrition. This will not solve any healthcare problem related to Nutrition in the United States.

I’d also like to know if the curriculum is going to be built around the new future pyramid that which is not built around evidence based science.

Focus on your strength and your body will follow. Focus on your body and you will be left doing cable kick backs eating chicken and broccoli. There’s a lot reward in being able to do complex movements, jumping really high and throwing heavy weight over your head. If you focus on how you can be the strongest most dynamic human (which includes the food to fuel that) the rest will just follow. You will have a body that you are proud of physically and aesthetically.

Carbs have been imbedded in our head from years of advertising and old science as BAD. But they are not. Carbs don’t make us fat and we need them! However it’s hard to erase years of messaging. I get it ! I’m victim to it too. Luckily, we now know with more moderen research and reviewing the old research that carbs are not at fault for weight gain in healthy individuals. Excess calories cause weight gain.

This is for all my friends who have had to start over or had set backs. For those who were in peak performance and search for that same person inside everyday. When life changes and your body starts to change- it’s a humbling experience.

The best thing about having that strength is knowing we can get there again. It wasn’t built overnight and it’s tough at times, but showing up is the only way to get to the next level.

I was wondering when this day would come. Here we are so let’s explain why drinking alcohol is the worst things that an athlete can do to their body.
Alcohol blocks muscle repair, causes dehydration at a deep level, delays recovery, increases inflammation, weakens tendons and joints, and prevents quality REM sleep needed for testosterone and growth hormone production. This leads to slower strength gains, increased soreness, higher injury risk, and negative impacts on body composition.

Ask any athlete who works with me. I’m not shy about telling them to cut out the alcohol if they want to get the most out of working with me. I’m not here to be your yes woman I’m here to make you elite.

Why is it so important for supplements to carry the NSF for Sport or Informed Sport label?

Even if the actual supplement product that you’re taking would never make you test positive for a drug test some of the other products that are made in the same warehouse could interfere with drug test testing, and the particles easily float in the air. Which means that supplements that are certified safe for sport have to be made in a specific warehouse and batch tested to ensure there’s no cross-contamination.
This is also why those products will cost a little bit more certifications come at a high cost to the supplement companies.
In the big picture it’s worth the extra money for peace of mind!

I have nothing more to say because she said it all. The way to be the absolute best athlete in the world is to eat carbs. It will literally change your performance.
I will never understand how or why athletes are afraid of carbs when it’s the entire way they move their body and recover but it’s a huge fear even in the most elite athletes.
Hopefully hearing it from an Olympic gold medalist will help drive the message home!
