Hmmm, for a while now, we've been confronted with America's shadow. For most Americans it's shocking, surprising, sad, upsetting, infuriating.. Perhaps you have felt these things yourself, witnessing the revelation of the shadow of America.

All those things and more.

So here's the thing, have you confronted YOUR shadow? Have you done that work for yourself? It's no different for us on a personal level. Every single one of us humans possesses that shadow side.

I've done my own shadow work...and a few years ago I led a zoom group for a number of people who were very interested in doing shadow work for themselves. We had a fantastically rich time together. I mean, it is so incredibly powerful and freeing to bring our own shadow aspects out into the light. It's amazing. It's wonderful, and again, it's very freeing.

The thing is, we DO want to know about the darker aspects of ourselves....so we can own them, be conscious about them...and make choices. Otherwise, no pun intended, we remain completely in the dark about them...and what they're up to.

Spiritual bypassing only works for so long...and seriously, not all that well!

That's the whole point.. otherwise, just like what it tragically feels like on the political scene, it's all out of our conscious control. Not a good thing, and definitely not a good feeling to be kind of blindsided by the actions of our own shadow.

One of the areas I really treasure with my clients is engaging and supporting them with their personal shadow work. Them becoming aware of this is so powerful and rich.

EMPATHS, CHOOSE LOVINGLY!

I make it a priority to keep finding my Everyday Joy.

That's a phrase I coined a few decades ago in my spiritual coaching work with clients. But it came from my heart and I keep it in my heart.

They won't steal my joy.

No way, no how... not my joy, not my health, not my peace, not my love.

Sacred Self Care is what I practice, and I teach my clients, and dear ones.

Who can take care of
you better than you can?

You simply have to prioritize it, and commit to it.

Keep returning to it when you slip.

Realize the power you have to choose where you place your attention.

Will it bring you down and ruin your day, and perhaps even your health?

Or despite the news, the experiences, will you lift yourself up??

Gems on my walk this morning this is in addition to the gorgeous day, the delicious breeze, the lovely sunshine, saying hi to neighbors... and now relaxing on my swinging bench hanging from the oak tree in my front yard. HOW TO AMBI-DOODLE

This is a fun and enlightening art process that I was inspired to begin a number of years ago. Hope you enjoy playing with it!!

Relax, grab markers, some paper, think of something you want some clarity about. Take two pencils, one in each hand, close your eyes, keep in mind your intention/question, and simply move your hands around... doodle...

Then put the pencils down, open your eyes, take a breath, see what you've doodled. Now take colored pencils, markers, crayons, etc. and start drawing and coloring however you're inspired to. No shoulds, just enjoy...and then be surprised by what came through to answer your initial question.

Have fun with this....I very rarely share the whole process, but here it is.
I've been doing it for years and my clients love it too!!
