This milestone funding will help make Florida a national leader in pediatric cancer treatment and research, ensuring children can access world-class care without leaving the state.

Nicklaus Children's Hospital, along with the four Florida Specialty Hospitals for Children, will continue to invest in advancing innovative research, recruiting top medical talent, expanding clinical programs, and building state-of-the-art facilities to provide for all families right at home. Together, we serve one in four Florida children who require specialized care. This investment ensures that families will never have to leave Florida to access the highest-quality treatment for their children.

Nicklaus Children’s was proud to welcome Representative Adam Anderson and local partners in FIU & UM to celebrate the signing of the Sunshine Genetics Act, a big step forward for children with rare diseases in Florida.

Championed by Rep. Anderson, whose son Andrew tragically passed away from Tay-Sachs disease, the new program aims to deliver faster answers through genetic testing and connect families to the care they need.
