Nicklaus Children's Hospital is proud to be the first in South Florida to offer the groundbreaking FDA-approved Minima Stent from Renata Medical: the first heart stent designed to grow with a child’s heart. This innovation gives new hope to children with congenital heart disease, helping them avoid repeated open-heart surgeries.

Unlike traditional stents, the Minima Stent is specifically designed for children and is expandable as the child grows to reach an adult blood vessel size, without the need for additional operations. This groundbreaking technology, developed with the expertise of Dr. Sathanandam, Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine and Co-Director of the Nicklaus Children's Heart Institute, in collaboration with Renata Medical leaders, marks a significant advancement in pediatric cardiology.
