🍒👩‍🍳 Sweet things were happening in the kitchen this week! Chef Abby teamed up with our students for a fun hands-on cooking activity, and on the menu: personal cheesecakes!

Students got to build their own delicious creations and add the finishing touch with cherry topping. Activities like these are about more than making tasty treats. They help build confidence, encourage creativity, and create opportunities for learning through hands-on experiences.

We love seeing our students try new things and have fun in the kitchen. Great job, everyone… the cheesecakes were chef’s kiss amazing!

Huge shoutout to Full Tilt Arcade & Pinball for being such an incredible business in our community!

Not only has Full Tilt hosted Give Back Nights benefiting SLI, but they also generously donated to our Quarter Auction last year. Their support helps us continue creating opportunities, experiences, and connections for the students and families we serve.

What we love most about Full Tilt is their commitment to making the arcade experience fun, welcoming, and accessible for everyone. It’s more than just games and pinball machines. It’s a place where people can gather, laugh, connect, and just have a genuinely good time together.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at the Social and Learning Institute!

Today, we celebrate the moms, grandmothers, caregivers, mentors, and mother figures who lead with love, strength, patience, and approximately 47 open tabs in their brains at all times.

Thank you for the countless ways you support, encourage, teach, and inspire the people around you every single day. Your impact reaches farther than you know.

We hope today brings you a little extra joy, rest, laughter, and maybe even a chance to enjoy your coffee while it’s still hot.

Creativity was everywhere during Card Making with Mrs. Pat! 💌

Students had so much fun creating handmade cards inspired by adorable Minions and colorful caterpillars. Using paper, glue, and plenty of imagination, everyone added their own unique flair to their creations!

From goofy Minion smiles to bright polka-dot caterpillars, the classroom was filled with creativity, laughter, and lots of proud moments as students showed off their finished cards. Activities like this help build fine motor skills, encourage self-expression, and give students a chance to connect through art and creativity. ✨

A big thank you to Mrs. Pat for leading such a fun and engaging craft activity!

☁️🌧️ Science was looking a little stormy today… in the best way!

Our students got hands-on with a “Rain Cloud in a Jar” experiment to learn how clouds hold water and what happens when they become too heavy. Using water, shaving cream, and blue food coloring, they created their very own mini rainstorms right in the classroom!

There were lots of smiles, curiosity, and “whoa, look at that!” moments as the blue “rain” made its way through the clouds. Science + sensory fun = a pretty amazing day at SLI! ✨
