Elizabeth Kochvar sees beauty and spreads it with anyone who connects with her! She was born on October 22, 1917, and celebrated an amazing 108 years of love, wisdom, hard work, and a healthy lifestyle! Elizabeth was the middle child of 11 siblings! Elizabeth and her husband, George and later raised four children together: Marietta, April, Tom, and Jerry. Once her children were grown she became a school teacher assistant for the Special Education Program in Michigan City. During her lifetime, she has endured two world wars, Korean War, Vietnam, the Great Depression, Polio, and three pandemics (Spanish Flu, Scarlet Fever, and COVID-19). Elizabeth is a loving grandmother, great-grandma, and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, canning, reading, and quilting. At the age of 104, Elizabeth decided to join The Elms in Michigan City! She is so loved at The Elms and even the residents call her “grandma!” She shows her love to everyone and brings The Elms family much joy daily! She attributes her long happy and healthy life to her love for fruits and vegetables and walking! Please join us and give a happy birthday shout out to this incredible, loving, special “Grandma”, Elizabeth Kochvar!

We celebrated their hard work and dedication with personalized gifts and a delicious Mexican cuisine lunch — their choice and favorite!

Our residents, families, and friends came together for a day filled with laughter, dancing, and delicious homemade German and Polish favorites! From the music of GlennsVibes Band to the smiles that lit up the room — it was a celebration to remember.

The Elms at Michigan City’s Annual Oktoberfest was a huge success!

An evening out with the Villa residents at the Sunset Grill, a local roof top sanctuary outlooking the beautiful Lake Michigan. The villa residents enjoyed the cocktails and small finger foods. The residents enjoyed their time as they watched the sky be painted with spectacular colors as the sun was setting in the horizon.
