The Maryland Athletic Trainers' Association (MATA) is a professional organization for athletic trainers and other health care practitioners who support the advancement of the profession of athletic training within the state of Maryland. Founded in 1983, it is comprised of over 500 Maryland State Licensed, NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainers, physicians, concerned health care providers and students.

ATHLETIC DIRECTORS! It was great seeing you at the MSADA Conference. The Maryland Athletic Trainers’ Association (MATA) is here to support both you as Athletic Directors and your athletic trainers to ensure the health and safety of your student-athletes. We are committed to serving all athletes across the state of Maryland.

MATA would like to remind everyone that we’re one week out from the NextGen Sports Medicine & Performance Workshop Kickoff on Tuesday, April 21 from 6–9 PM at Happy Jack’s Tavern in Baltimore, and we’re looking forward to having you in the room.

This will be a casual networking night bringing together athletic trainers, physical therapists, strength coaches, students, and healthcare professionals. Your donation includes a meal and a drink, with additional drinks available for purchase. This is an exciting, hands-on career exploration event designed for high school students interested in sports, health, science, and performance.

This workshop gives students a behind-the-scenes look at the careers that keep athletes healthy, strong, and ready to compete. Participants will rotate through interactive stations led by professionals in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy/Sports Rehab, and Strength & Conditioning/Sports Performance, followed by a live career panel and a college/career fair.
