Four Legged Angels

Four Legged Angels A non profit organization to provide Service and Therapy Dogs to Veterans and First Responders

07/15/2025

Our hearts are with the city of Fall River and surrounding communities affected by the recent Gabriel House fire. šŸ’”

In moments like these, we’re reminded of the extraordinary strength and bravery of our first responders. Behind every heroic action, there is an emotional toll that often goes unseen.

We want to take a moment to recognize the incredible efforts of all the departments and providers who responded—and those continuing to support the community in the aftermath.

Fall River EMS, AFSCME L-1202 Professional Paramedics of Fall River in partnership with St. Anne’s Hospital and Brown Health, is ensuring that the mental health of those providers is not overlooked. They’ve made peer support and mental health resources available to all responders across departments and hospitals.

If you were part of the response and need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out:

And if any provider simply needs someone to meet for coffee — or enjoy alone time with one of our comfort pups—Four Legged Angels is here for you. 🐾

Please reach out. You’re not alone. šŸ–¤

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our beloved Four Legged Angels family members, Charles Sr.

Charles was truly one of the warmest and most genuine souls you could ever meet. His kindness, compassion, and unwavering support touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. If you had the privilege of crossing paths with Charles, you were undoubtedly blessed by his presence.

Charlie never met a dog he didn’t love, and there wasn’t a dog that didn’t love him in return. He spent his last years working at his son Charlie Jr.’s dog training facility, and you can be sure that by the end of his shift, the dog cookie bins were always empty.

Charles devoted much of his time to volunteering for the nonprofit organization Four Legged Angels, helping veterans in need obtain service dogs—a cause that was close to his heart.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 25th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., West Bridgewater, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.

Donations in Charles’ memory can be made to the nonprofit organization Four Legged Angels, 277 Purchase St., Middleboro, MA 02346.

Rest in peace, Charles Sr. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten ā¤

**Four Legged Angels Therapy Team** was honored to join the **VFW Swansea Post 2045** for their first annual *22 Veterans a Day* 5K Walk. This powerful event brings awareness to the heartbreaking statistic that 22 veterans take their lives each day. It was truly inspiring to see the community come together in support of our veterans and their mental health.

Our participation in this event goes hand-in-hand with our mission: *Save a Dog, Save a Life*. We rescue puppies from last-chance shelters, and through love, training, and dedication, we transform them into Therapy and Service Dogs for Veterans and First Responders in need. These dogs provide companionship, emotional support, and a renewed sense of purpose for their handlers.

We’re proud to walk alongside such a dedicated group to help make a difference in the world.

We’re creating a world where every rescued dog finds a loving home and every Veteran or First Responder gets the support they need.
