How Lynn Kicked Sugar Cravings

Lynn came to me for help with her extreme sugar cravings, especially at night.

She has fought with said cravings for most of her life and has tried every trick & program under the sun to try and dispel her cravings and obsession with food.

Nothing ever worked and all of them just left her feeling overwhelmed and defeated.

She didn’t come to me to lose weight. She came to me because she thought she needed help with self-control around sweets and food in general.

What she got with me that other programs didn’t provide was the fact that this method made her realize the problem wasn’t that she had zero will power. No, wasn’t it at all.

Her transformation happened when we found and addressed the root cause & understood what was going on with her hormones. She learned how to decipher what her body was telling her.

The knowledge, community support and the accountability that my method provides gave her bonus victories she never expected.

Midlife hormonal shifts are not just about poor sleep and extra inches.

It’s about lack of focus and anxiety.

When people tell me their midlife hormones are affecting every aspect of their life, I believe them.

The common misconception is that the midlife hormones only affect your sleep and your waistline, but the reality is the symptoms and outcomes can be much more life altering.

This is why simply patching the one symptom does not help the problem disappear.

I finally did it! I finally cooked the beef heart that has been in my freezer for quite some time.

I’ve been hearing so much about how amazing it is and how it’s like filet mignon! And it’s frigin unreal! I can’t believe I waited this long to brave it. Honestly, I thought I would not do it right and mess it up! But it came out perfect and its not gamey at all!

Beef heart is one of the most nutrient dense meats on the planet!

It’s so rich in Folate, iron, zinc, selenium, BComplex, Creatine, L-Carnitine, CQ10 and all good proteins, peptides, enzymes, collagen and elastin! Talk about super food!

I could go on and on about how much beef heart goes further than any other food to protect & strengthen your own heart using all the above mentioned vitamins, minerals, cofactors and enzymes. It provides incredible support and improves your overall health! Who doesn’t want that?

So, let's talk about how the majority of people in the world are on some kind of meds. I know that some of us definitely have specific life threatening and some even unavoidable conditions out there.

BUT, for the most part, the majority of people are on meds that they don't need to be on. Most of us are taking things that can be completely remedied through diet and lifestyle changes.

We're just so used to being comfortable with quick fixes. Essentially, we've become used to having that instant gratification and we've accepted that not feeling great as the norm. It's a recipe for a slow disaster.

I challenge you to think about what meds you're currently taking and what they're for. I challenge you to seek out an alternative for yourself and take the first steps to living better and feeling better.

The pros and cons of eating less & popping pills for midlife hormonal shifts

One of the things that I often get asked about when it comes to relieving symptoms of a growing waistline, dwindling sleep, and brain fog is, “Do I just have to except this is midlife and the only way to fix these issues are by eating less to shed the extra inches and taking meds?"

This belief system has been used by main stream medicine for years to assist with symptoms related to midlife hormonal shifts, but here are a few things that you should consider:

You need adequate amounts of quality protein & fat to produce quality hormones.

None of the mainstream solutions fix the root cause.

If the root cause is left unaddressed, it will lead to more problems down the road.

My 3 no excuse habits that keep my sleep on track

I shut off all screens by 9pm and pick up a book instead. This helps ensure that the blue light isn’t messing with my sleep hormones.

I try go to bed and get up close to the same time every day - even on the weekends. My body loves routine and this supports my adrenals.

I don’t eat within 3 hours of bedtime insuring that my body can focus on restoring and repairing instead of digesting food, allowing me to get the most out of my deep sleep state. This is when our bodies generate new growth hormones, keeping us younger longer.

3 things I do to start my day off right

I know I have mentioned my morning routine before but I firmly believe that starting your day off in the best way possible will give you a better chance of owning the whole day.

Here are three easy things that I make sure that I do every morning to help ensure I have a great day.

1. I always make my bed because this gives me a quick feeling of accomplishment.
2. I always start my day with a big glass of filtered water so that I know I am well hydrated.
3. I take a few minutes to write down and/or pray for as many things I can think of that I’m thankful for. Starting the day off in gratitude makes a huge impact on my outlook for the day.
