Rain or shine, Paige has been a faithful and incredible part of our team — as both a volunteer and employee. Her kindness toward the horses and her dedication to even the not-so-glamorous jobs (hello, stall duty!) never went unnoticed. 🐴💛

Now she’s off to bigger and better things at Florida State University! We’ll miss her more than words can say.

Help us wish Paige the best of luck on her next adventure! 🎓🍀

Happy Sweet 16 to our handsome little guy, Gus! 🎉🎂 Born on June 12, 2008, this week marks a special birthday and a huge milestone — 10 years as a beloved therapy horse at Hope Therapy! 🐴💙

Gus is a registered American Miniature Horse with a big heart and the most stunning blue eyes you’ve ever seen. 💎 He’s been with us since January 2015, spreading joy, confidence, and calm to everyone lucky enough to work with him.

Here’s to a decade of making a difference and many more to come. We love you, Gus! 💙

🌟 Horse of the Month: Hope! 🌟

Born 3 weeks early on Jan 23, 2023, Hope beat the odds as a surviving twin. Her mom Maggie, an off-the-track thoroughbred, came to Hope Therapy pregnant and ready for a new journey.

Hope was tiny, with leg issues from being cramped in the womb. Her first run led to fractures, so she had to rest and heal—but her feisty spirit never quit!

Now off at training, she returns this month to begin her career as a therapy horse—just like her mom!

Meet Veteran Lynn and her best friend Rocky.

Lynn first came to Hope Therapy as an Active Duty Navy Nurse, working through rehab for a brain injury. That’s when she met Rocky — a gentle equine partner who stood by her side through every step of recovery.

Now, even after her service, Lynn visits Rocky every week. Today, she’s helping him shed his winter coat — just one more act of love in a friendship built on trust, healing, and connection.

Because sometimes, the best therapy has four legs and a mane.

🌾 Vet day at Hope Therapy! Caring for 11 horses isn’t cheap—but our older guys especially need close monitoring. Even horses get allergies 🤧 so it’s shots all around today. Keeping our herd happy & healthy is always worth it 💉🐴

Our Mission is to provide ‘healing with the help of the horse’ for special needs children, veterans and individuals with a variety of diagnoses. We are a 501(c)3 non=profit corporation, founded in 2001 by the mother-daughter team of Marianne and Rebecca Davenport. Hope Therapy is the only facility of its kind in Northeast Florida to be Certified a Premiere Facility by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International. We are staffed by licensed occupational therapists certified in Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding Instruction, and we accept most major insurance coverage.
