Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Carlyle House Historic Park's opening to the public with members of the team who originally restored British merchant John Carlyle's 1753 Georgian stone mansion in Alexandria, VA.
In 1970, Fauber Garbee, Inc., Architects began the extensive restoration and research of Carlyle’s 1753 home and the long forgotten stories associated with the house. Join members of the original restoration team in a dialogue about the specific conservation, repair and restoration steps undertaken 50 years ago and whether the same paths would be taken today.
'The Preservation of Carlyle House' will take place on Saturday, March 7, 4-6pm, at the Historic Alexandria, VA Alexandria History Museum at the Lyceum, 201 S Washington St, Alexandria, VA 22314.
