In recognition of and this year’s theme celebrating connection, engagement, and the meaningful contributions of older adults, we are proud to spotlight Stella, a resident at Complete Care at Middlebury. 💙
Stella is a Connecticut native who has spent more than a century building a life centered around family, learning, and connection with others. Born in Union City in 1921, Stella grew up during a time of tremendous change and has witnessed generations of history unfold before her eyes. Through it all, her warm personality and love for people have remained at the heart of who she is.
A proud graduate of Naugatuck High School, Stella continued her studies at Mattatuck Community College and also attended Central Connecticut State University. Her curiosity and love of learning became lifelong qualities that inspired those around her.
Stella shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, and together they built a loving home while raising two daughters. Family has always been one of Stella’s greatest joys, and she treasures every opportunity to gather with loved ones, celebrate milestones, and create lasting memories.
She also has a passion for travel and adventure. Whether visiting nearby towns or exploring faraway destinations, Stella loved discovering new places and meeting new people along the way. Her adventurous spirit and positive outlook helped her embrace every stage of life with enthusiasm and gratitude.
Even at 104 years old, Stella continues to amaze those around her with her energy and openness to new experiences. Recently, she learned how to use an Apple Watch, proving you are never too old to adapt, grow, and enjoy modern technology. Stella’s life is a beautiful reminder that staying connected, curious, and engaged with others helps keep the spirit young.
