Racism is a public health crisis.

This quote from the president of PPFA is in response to allegations that people who were detained at one of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) facilities in Ocilla, Georgia, underwent unnecessary gynecological procedures, including hysterectomies.

This is dehumanizing and violent.

What we have seen happening within our country is terrifying. Here is a great resource with a list of actions towards justice for Black lives, please take the time to go through and sign petitions and contact those who can seek justice. If you can give, there are also links of organizations and funds which to donate to. Please comment any other resources that could be helpful. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Xa9Av-NfuFsWBHlsMvPiqJHdNedZgnCRW56qAS-7PGQ/mobilebasic

Today at 10 am the Supreme Court will hear oral argument in the June Medical Services v. Russo, the first major abortion case since Trump appointed two new justices, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh.
The Court is tasked with deciding whether to uphold Louisiana’s law requiring physicians who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a local hospital (aka TRAP law). Read about the case below and, in addition, read about the suspiciously similar case regarding Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt, a Texas abortion law that was ruled unconstitutional in 2016.
Why is the Supreme Court hearing the same case twice?? Great question. Come learn about both cases and chat about the future of abortion access TONIGHT @ 7 in Chellis. Snacks and tea and hot chocolate will be provided to soothe souls troubled by the idea of Roe v. Wade being over turned!
