Meetings are held at 8:45 a.m. on the last Monday of each month.

Exception: In May, the meeting is held on the Monday prior to Memorial Day. No meeting is held Meigs County Veterans Service Office assist veterans and their families in many ways, including:

Answering questions, advising, and educating individuals and groups on what benefits are available from federal, state, county, and local resources. Assisting persons in completing and filing benefit claims.

Representing individuals in VA hearings. VSO's are trained and accredited by the VA or other recognized organizations to provide assistance to veterans, their dependents, and survivors. This includes not only applying for federal and state benefits but also providing information on resources related to the following:

Compensation and Pension
Health Care
Education & Training
Employment
Burial & Survivor
Housing
Transportation
Military Records

The Meigs County Veterans Service Office is currently looking for a couple of dependable backup drivers to assist with transporting veterans to VA medical appointments. 🇺🇸

Candidates must:
• Have a clean driving record
• Be dependable and professional
• Be willing to assist veterans in our community as needed
• Be a Meigs County resident
• Veteran preferred

Office Closure Notice

The Meigs County Veterans Service Office will be closed Tuesday through Friday this week due to mandatory spring training.

We will be checking voicemails periodically throughout the week and will return calls as soon as possible.

The office will reopen on Monday, May 4th.

There’s a Benefit Concert & Silent Auction for Veterans coming up on May 9th in Athens, and it’s for two awesome organizations doing real work for our veteran community—Boots on the Trail and Ornery Vets Collective.

The Meigs County Veterans Service Office will be closed Thursday, March 5th and Friday, March 6th due to mandatory annual state training.

This training ensures we stay current on state and federal veterans benefits so we can continue providing the best possible service to our veterans and their families.

We will reopen Monday, March 9th with normal business hours.
