Commit Your Plans to God

Scripture: “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3

Reflection:
New Year goals are good servants but poor masters. The wisdom of Proverbs re-centers us: we entrust our work to God, and He shapes the outcomes. For caregivers and leaders, this means we set priorities, yet hold them with open hands. God’s establishment may look like clarity, correction, or unexpected doors—each a sign of His care.

Prayer:
God, I place my plans in Your hands. Align my desires with Your purposes. Establish my steps for Your glory and others’ good. Amen.

Practice:
Write one goal for the year, then add a sentence that commits it to God: “I will ___, trusting God to establish it in His timing and way.”

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month! Let’s raise awareness about the importance of early detection, HPV vaccination, and regular screenings.

✅ Pap & HPV Tests – Detect changes early, when treatment is most effective

✅ HPV Vaccine – Protects against the virus that causes most cervical cancers

🗓️ Don’t Wait—Schedule Your Cervical Cancer Screening Today!
Life gets busy, but your health deserves a spot on the calendar. A Pap test or HPV test can detect changes early, often before cancer develops. It’s quick, it’s routine, and it could save your life.
🗓️ If you’re 21–65 years old, talk to your doctor about when to get screened.
💉 Combine it with an HPV test for even stronger protection.
💬 Share this post to remind your loved ones to schedule their exam. Let’s spread the word this January!

New Mercies, New Beginnings

Scripture: “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22–23

Reflection:
The calendar turns, and with it God’s mercies greet us again. We don’t start the year as blank slates—but as beloved people with fresh grace. In chaplaincy, we see yesterday’s burdens carried into today. This text invites us to acknowledge those burdens while receiving mercy that is new enough for today’s needs. Newness isn’t erasing the past; it is God’s faithful presence redeeming it.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for mercies that meet us every morning. Renew our minds and steady our hearts. Let Your faithfulness set our pace this year. Amen.

Practice:
List three “new mercies” you notice today—in your body, your work, your relationships. Speak one of them aloud as a blessing over your day.

🗓️ If you’re 21–65 years old, talk to your doctor about when to get screened.
💉 Combine it with an HPV test for even stronger protection.

📚💙 Community Spotlight | Youth Giving Back 💙📚

We are beyond thankful to the Thomas Walker High School Senior Class Beta Club for taking the initiative - completely on their own - to organize a thoughtful book drive for our pediatric patients here at Middlesboro ARH.
Their donation included books, coloring books, colored pencils, crayons, and scented washable markers; items that will bring comfort, creativity, and joy to children across our downtown pediatric clinic, our Med/Surg/Peds unit, and even our 2nd floor nursery (because some parents love reading to their babies!❤️📚).

How special is it to see high school seniors thinking about other kids and choosing to give back in such a meaningful way? In a world where many kids don't always think to help other kids, this group truly stood out!

Thank you, TWHS Beta Club, for your kindness, leadership, and hearts for service. You made a difference! 🌟

Peace on Earth

Scripture: Luke 2:14
"Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."

Reflection:
The birth of Jesus was announced with a message of peace. Not the kind the world gives, but a deep, abiding peace that comes from being reconciled with God. In the chaos of the season, we are invited to pause and receive the peace that only Christ can give—a peace that calms our hearts and restores our souls.

Prayer:
Prince of Peace, quiet my heart and fill me with Your presence. Let Your peace rule in my life and overflow to those around me. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
