Harvard Medical published that people with rheumatoid arthritis face double the usual odds of developing heart disease. Experts say the connection more likely stems from inflammation. Further, the good news is that controlling joint inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis appears to protect the heart, too. Drugs can be helpful, but also harmful.
