No Time for Self-Care? I’ve got you covered.

Any activity can become an act of self-care when it’s done with intention.

Mindlessly scrolling your phone while a candle is lit isn’t necessarily self-care. But if you add intention behind it—like “Boosting Your Mood with Laughter”—and engage with posts or videos that fulfill that intention, you’ve just turned a mundane moment into a self-care ritual.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Light a Candle (or use whatever you have): This signals to your brain that you’re entering self-care mode. Whether it’s incense, aromatherapy, or simply dimming the lights—use whatever feels good to you.

2. Set Your Intention: This is the magic sauce. If you’re folding laundry while mentally running through your to-do list, it won’t be fulfilling. But if you set an intention—like being more grateful or recognizing the blessings in the clothes you’re folding—you’ll walk away with more peace and love in your heart.

3. Engage All Five Senses:

Sight: Soft lighting or nature’s beauty.

Sound: Play soothing music, nature sounds, or enjoy the silence.

Touch: Wrap yourself in a blanket, feel the warmth of a cup of tea, or focus on your breath.

Smell: Light a candle, use essential oils, or enjoy the natural scents around you.

Taste: Sip on tea, enjoy a small snack, or savor the fresh air.

Use these three steps and add your own unique twist to make it work for you.

The question & my answer 👇

❓"How do I find time for self-care?”

Usually followed by:
"I have no support, a never-ending to-do list, and I can’t leave my child alone."

My answer is always the same:
You don’t “find” time—you “make” time.

Think back to life before your child. How did you spend your time?
I’m guessing it wasn’t consumed by their every need...

Because they didn’t exist yet! But somehow, once they did, you found endless time to give to them.

Why?
Because you made them a priority.

The same goes for you, mom.
Once you decide your self-care is a priority, you will make time for it.

Your excuses will fade as you commit to making this work—not sitting in victim mode.

Through our time together, I have shared bits and pieces of my story, including my experiences with anxiety, weight loss, and feeling like I was drowning in motherhood.

My yoga journey played a huge part in my transformation and success as I navigated through these different areas of my life.

I strongly believe that to be the best versions of ourselves and for our families, we need to do the hard inner work, with yoga playing a significant role.

However, I’ve realized that I’ve put myself in a box, by only talking about yoga and self-care. In reality, there is so much more involved. While I often discuss the body, mind, and heart, I’ve been missing one crucial pillar: the home.

I want you to have the special needs motherhood of your dreams. I want you to live a life so full and so big that you never dared dream it possible. To help you achieve that, the approach needs to be multidimensional. I want to offer advice, tips, and support that cover all aspects of this journey.

So, I’m making a small shift to share more, not less. This change will allow me to share the other aspects of my life that truly light me up, including behind-the-scenes glimpses into how I run our home and set it up for success through routines, schedules, systems, and more.

From now on, you can look forward to content about yoga/ health, personal growth/self-love, as well as practical home management tips and tricks, all aimed at supporting you in this season of motherhood.

I am very excited to add this aspect of home to our self-care pillars and to share even more of my story with you.

Yesterday, I took the day off. A day to rest and indulge in my passions. I focused only on the essentials—feeding the kids and washing the dishes. Everything else, I let go. 

And you know what? Today, I'm not playing catch-up at all. 

Why? Because I've curated my life to create these pockets of time without everything falling apart.

Are you a special needs mom who's always on the go, your mind constantly racing with a never-ending to-do list? Do you feel like you are barely keeping your head above water, hoping for just a second of relief to catch your breath?

I get it—this was me. Until I reached a point where I just couldn't keep going the same way. I knew I needed to make a change. Deciding was the easy part; knowing how felt impossible and foreign. So I hired a weight loss coach. She taught me how to eat for fuel and nourishment and how to start taking care of my body. I used that momentum to take even more action and propel forward in my self-care.

I discovered that by taking care of myself, I actually became a better mom for my family. I finally had the energy and capacity to hold space for them and show up as the mom I always dreamed of. I was no longer the crazed, stressed-out mom running around like a chicken with her head cut off. Instead, I was calm, confident, happy, and patient. All the things I dreamed motherhood would be had finally come true.

Simply because I took different actions in my life and hired a coach.
