Radical Remission: A 5-Week Virtual Workshop Series
Saturdays, Jan. 24 - Feb. 21
10:00–11:30AM CST
Via Zoom

Join Manisha Bhargava, Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach and Certified Radical Remission Instructor, for a powerful 5-week virtual workshop series inspired by Dr. Kelly A. Turner’s bestselling books Radical Remission and Radical Hope. The series explores 10 lifestyle healing factors identified through Dr. Turner’s research on more than 1,500 cases of unexpected cancer remission.

Each interactive session covers two healing factors, such as nutrition, intuition, and emotional release, through a blend of science, survivor stories, and experiential practices. Participants gain practical tools, meaningful insights, and a personalized action plan to support physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Caregivers, family members, and friends are warmly encouraged to attend.

A Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health study found that Radical Remission Workshop participants experienced significant improvements in quality of life lasting at least six months. Learn more: tinyurl.com/radicalremissionstudy

Happy New Year from Gilda's Club!

Because of you, 2025 was a year filled with compassion, support, and hope for families touched by cancer. More than 1,300 folks impacted by cancer joined our programs throughout the year- a 21% increase over 2024. More and more individuals across Wisconsin are finding our community, and that wouldn't be possible without you. And we're hoping to reach even more folks touched by cancer in 2026!

Whether you are a Gilda's Club member, a volunteer, or support us philanthropically- you are what makes this a growing, thriving community available at no cost to anyone touched by cancer.

One member recently shared, "Gilda's is a place of hope and support. The care and compassion they show each person is such a blessing. During the moments of uncertainty and sadness they shine with comfort and the light of hope."

Thank you for being that light of hope for so many in our community. You prove that community is stronger than cancer!

It's the last day to have your gift matched for twice the impact!

Our first two pools of matching dollars have already been met, but a group of donors will match the next $4,000 in donations through December 31st. This means that your gift of $100 could provide THREE FULL MONTHS of support for a Wisconsinite facing what is likely the biggest challenge of their lives!

Please consider making a gift today: www.GildasClubMadison.org/Donate

Your gift will ensure that no one in Wisconsin has to face cancer alone.

Thank you to everyone who has already given to the match challenge! You make this warm, welcoming community possible.

Your gift will support Wisconsinites touched by cancer like Adam. “I felt like I was losing control of my life,” Adam. “I lost my identity- I couldn’t do the basic things I was used to doing.”

Adam knew that he and his children needed more support. So, they joined Gilda’s Club. They started coming to Family Night each Tuesday. They ate a meal prepared by volunteers before going into their separate areas- a support group for Adam, and Kid Support for the kids.

“There was just this incredible sense of community and togetherness. A feeling of inclusion,” Adam remembers. “Getting to hear from people in all different parts of their cancer journey was really remarkable.”

Cancer changes life in lasting ways. But, with your support, you can help others learn how to live with and beyond their cancer.

Last week, Gilda's Club members gathered in the art room for Therapeutic Art: Wreath Making. Each member chose their own form of wreath and their own materials for a unique design.

During the class, led by art therapist Molly Linn-Miller, the group discussed the challenges of the stresses of the season added to worries around cancer, and how to use mindfulness to help ease these stresses. Attendees commented on how much they were able to push those worries aside as they focused on their creations.

Be sure to check the program calendar for upcoming art workshops: www.GildasClubMadison.org/Calendar.

For Adam, going through treatment derailed every aspect of his life. “It was really hard, kind of this immense feeling of overwhelm,” Adam remembers. “I remember sitting there thinking ‘I can’t do this.’”

“I felt like I was losing control of my life,” he continues. “I lost my identity- I couldn’t do the basic things I was used to doing.”

You know the importance of having a community of support after hearing those frightening words, "You have cancer." You understand the whirlwind of logistics and emotions that someone faces when they realize their whole world has turned upside-down.

And, now, thanks to a group of generous donors, your gift can be matched and go twice as far! Our first two pools of matching dollars have already been met, but a group of donors will match the next $5,000 in donations through December 31st. This means that your gift of $100 could provide THREE FULL MONTHS of support for a Wisconsinite facing what is likely the biggest challenge of their lives!

The Gilda's Run/Walk is about more than crossing a finish line. It’s about the joy, connection, and moments that remind us why community matters. Thank you to Super Balloon Man (Paint My Face), James The Magician, Lee from Ruth's Chris Steak House - Madison / Middleton, WI, and Talia from Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Co. for helping create those moments. From Benny the Pin at Spare Time Madison to a princess visit from A Moment of Magic at Wisconsin and a Justice For A Cure Warrior moment, every detail made an impact. We’re deeply grateful to our sponsors, runners, walkers, fundraisers, and volunteers who make this day possible.

Aaron was nine years old at the time his dad was diagnosed. “My dad, who used to chase me around the house, shoot hoops with me outside, and go on 100+ mile bike rides frequently, was now spending more time on the couch, energy drained from all of his treatment. I don't remember much, but I do remember wondering if things will ever go back to normal.”

His dad, Adam, knew that he and his children needed more support. They needed to find a sense of normalcy amidst all of the disruption. So, they joined Gilda’s Club. They started coming to Family Night each Tuesday.

They ate a volunteer-prepared meal before going into their separate areas- a support group for Adam, and Kid Support for the kids. In Kid Support, they got to discuss topics like how to talk about your feelings and the differences between different types of cancer.

Your gift today will make programs like Family Night available at no cost. Whatever their age, whether they personally have a diagnosis or are the loved one of someone with a diagnosis, your gift makes this welcoming community possible for anyone, anywhere on their cancer journey.

For Aaron, who is now in the 12th grade, experiencing his dad having cancer has had a lasting impact. “Through the hard times, countless acts of kindness were made toward my dad and my family....these small acts of kindness brought me and my family just a little bit closer to “normal”,” he remembers.

Thank you to everyone who has already given as part of the match challenge! You prove that community is stronger than cancer.
