💬 Advocate for Yourself with Hearing Loss 💪

Hearing loss is often invisible — and that means others might not realize when they’re leaving you out. But you can take simple steps to stay connected and confident!

👨‍👩‍👧 With Family & Friends
• Ask them to face you and speak clearly.
• Suggest moving to quieter spaces.
• Remind everyone that conversations work best when we take turns.

🩺 With Your Doctor
• Let them know if you can’t hear clearly.
• Ask for written instructions for care plans.
• Use captioned calls (like CaptionCall Mobile) when needed.

🍽️ In Public
• Request quieter, well-lit seating at restaurants.
• Look for hearing loop signs at venues if your hearing aids have a telecoil.

💼 At Work
• Ask for captions or other helpful tools.
• Tell coworkers how they can best support you.

✨ Remember: Know what you need — and don’t be afraid to ask for it. Your voice matters.

Ear Nose and Throat

ENT Medicine and Surgery Group & Aquidneck Hearing Center has made itself a part of the East Bay Community for more than 30 years. Dr. James Dobbin opened this practice in Bristol and Middletown, RI in 1987 before retiring in 2017, Dr. Steven Freedman joined him as a partner in 1992.

Ear, Nose & Throat is a medical practice that provides care for ear, nose and throat diseases, including hearing loss. We take special care in diagnosing ear problems and hearing loss, and determine which patients can benefit from hearing instruments.

When caring for our patients, we take each person's unique needs into account. This allows us to provide an individualized treatment plan that ensures success.

The audiology staff at Aquidneck Hearing Center can provide a full range of hearing rehabilitation services, including hearing aids. We offer our patients honesty and transparency, so when they’re making decisions concerning hearing aids, they are well informed.
