I'm very excited to introduce you to our amazing Pilates instructor, 🩰
She's new to CT and The Barre and Beyond but is a Pilates veteran who brings a wealth of knowledge and visuals to her classes.
This week she is performing as a professional ballet dancer with in
Three chances to see her perform this weekend or catch a Pilates class with her next week!

Tiffany Oltjenbruns has always enjoyed the freedom of moving, which began with her love of dance and now translates into her passion for Pilates. Tiffany has extensive knowledge of movement science and anatomy as she has been practicing Pilates for over ten years. She trained under Jeannine Corbell, Master Pilates instructor with Balanced Body. Tiffany’s certification is through the PhysicalMind Institute. She enjoys teaching Pilates to Brenau University students of all levels and the dancers of the Gainesville Ballet Company. Her style of teaching includes traditional methods while infusing exciting variations. She graduated from Brenau University with a B.A. in Dance and a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy. At Brenau, she was awarded the Outstanding Senior in Dance Award and the Performing Artist Award. She is joining Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet as a Company Artist in July 2023 and is excited to be moving to Middletown, Connecticut to begin her next Pilates adventure.

Perhaps you will:
Pick 5 of your favorite exercises and do them in rotation to your favorite festive song
Or
Roll a dice/ use a deck of cards to pick the next exercise and do it for 30 seconds at a time
Or
Get creative and share your idea in the comments below!

This Intro to Pilates class is now up on my YouTube page!

I love using this quadruped position to warm-up for 2 main reasons: 1- it’s a closed kinetic chain exercise which makes it effective in warming up multiple joints at once and 2- it can be easier to find your deep abdominal muscles against gravity. Give it a try and let me know in the comments 👇

For anyone gearing up for summer intensives, here's a French twist tutorial I made a while back. My trick: anchor pins... Using taping strategies to secure a French twist 😂

Hair tutorials are definitely not what my channel is about, but I made an exception since quite a few of you have asked... and because it took me YEARS to find a way for my heavy hair to stay up in pirouettes.

And that's a wrap. Tonight marks the final performance of Body and Land and my final performance as a professional ballet dancer. What an amazing experience this has been the past 7 years (5 with ). I'm so grateful to have had the experience to not just perform but to also use dance to raise attention and conversation about such important social issues.

This is one of my favorite lines from the poem All Things Being Equal by Kwamena Blankson . This poem has been an integral part of our work this season on ecojustice. Thank you to everyone who has made these past 7 years so incredible.

Now to step into a new season and pour into helping future dancers perform their safest and their best. M***e.

I'm sure I looked a little out of place today in the airport, but man I needed to stretch!

After leaving for the airport at 3am today, though, I thoroughly needed a little movement to fully rise and shine today.

Not pictured: scapular squeezes and chin tucks since I feel my posture collapsing forward with all these weird sleeping positions 🤕
