We’re inspired by actor Jesse Eisenberg, who recently shared his plans to donate a kidney to a stranger in need. Organ and blood donation go hand in hand—and we’re proud to see a fellow donor taking that commitment to saving lives even further!

Cara made her first blood donation in honor of her mom, a frequent O- donor who always reminded her family how important giving blood was.

Cara admits she once thought her own B+ blood type wasn’t really needed—but quickly learned that every type plays a lifesaving role. She was surprised by how quick and easy the process was (the donation itself took just 10 minutes!) and hopes that by sharing her experience, others will see how simple it can be to save lives.

We’re so grateful to Cara for honoring her mom’s legacy and starting her own donor journey—next time, she’s even bringing her partner to join her! ❤️

Meet Sophie— a student, soon-to-be college freshman, and passionate blood donor who’s using her voice to inspire the next generation of lifesavers.

In a recent op-ed featured in her local newspaper, Sophie shared, "Young donors like me aren’t showing up the way we used to. Across the country, donations from people under 25 have dropped by more than a third in the past two decades. That’s scary, because the future of the blood supply depends on new donors stepping up."

For Sophie, giving blood started as family tradition — and became something much deeper. "I was surprised to learn how many of my own friends and neighbors have needed blood... What I’ve realized is that most people don’t understand how critical blood donation is until it saves someone they love."

Her message is clear: young donors matter. "We are the future of the blood supply. We’re the ones who will determine whether hospitals have the blood they need when someone’s life is on the line."

Congratulations to Sophie for her publication, and we know whether she's off in college or back in her hometown, she's making an impact wherever she goes! 🩸
