Before I was an IBCLC, I was a breastfeeding mom in corporate America.
This is a picture of me pumping on a plane. In the bathroom. My nightmare that happened every other week for years. Note the paper towel “tablecloth” to protect my gear.
If you are a commuting or traveling mom- I get your situation and strive to help you meet your feeding goals- with evidence based knowledge and practical experience. You can do it!!!

Nervous about the upcoming storm & the potential of power outage? Prep your frozen stash before the storm for best results if a power outage happens!
Your frozen bags will stay colder longer when “bricked” together and packed into the back portion of the freezer. Keep the freezer closed! This will help maintain temperature in the freezer.
Frozen milk can be refrozen if ice crystals are still present.
🌟Save this post for reference for future storms!

8 years ago today, I gave birth to my first born. Every year I am a Mom, it makes me think about I would have told myself this day…. Right before her birth at 11:45pm. This is what I would say.
1. You won’t always get it right but you did your best with the information you had. Don’t dwell or Monday morning quarterback
2. Wish I would have know birth doulas existed…. Because we would have most likely avoided a ton of interventions … tagging so many of my favs!
3. Breastfeeding isn’t easy. Slanted ni***es post feed and 45+minute feeds aren’t normal.
3b. Even though you’ll be excited to stop pumping, you will also cry, because that pumping kept me connected to you while I wasn’t actually with you.
4. Your world is about to flip upside down…. In the best way possible.
5. Newborn photos are amazing- exhausting but amazing. Get a fabulous photog- like

Over the weekend, I celebrated 2 years in private practice. The journey to become an IBCLC was long, but I’m so happy each day that I decided to be in this amazing field.

Big thank you to the families that have let me be a part of their journey❤️

My post from 2021 does a good job of summing it up.
**In 2017, I started working towards a career change. In 2019, I earned my Certified Breastfeeding Specialist credential. In 2020, I spent 6 months completing my clinical lactation internship at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Today I am proud to say- I am officially an IBCLC!!!
(International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)

A huge thank you to Paul, who supported me the whole way! CeCe & Tyler for the practical experience! My family and friends, who have been so encouraging through the process! The lactation team at Jersey Shore who taught me so much!

Excited to announce that earlier this month I completed the IBCLC Masterclass in Oral Rehabilitation for Breastfeeding dyads. I love provided tools to my families & in cases of tongue-tie, proper oral rehabilitation is a key piece of the puzzle for optimal outcomes (along with collaborative care with excellent release providers and body workers!).
